How often we wish for another chanceTo make a fresh beginning. A chance to blot out our mistakes And change failure into winning. It does not take a special time To make a brand new start, It only takes the deep desire To try with all our heart. To live a little better, To always be forgiving. To add a little sunshine, In a world for which we're living. Never give up in despair Nor think you're through, For there's always a tomorrow, A chance to start anew. Taken off Celeste's blog. It's given me some form of hope. Maybe it will for others too. Yesterday i went to the D.A.R.T workshop. It's for this science competition, where you make your own model car, and compete with other schools. "Make", in this case, is referring to assembling the remote control and decorating the pre-designed/assembled car. There are 2 mini-competitions within the actual one. One of them is where they judge your car's decorations, the other is where you have to use the remote to control the car into this bull's eye thing. It's really not that simple, since it's not a real remote car. It's pretty complicated, and i still don't get it. But it uses infared technology, which means everytime the lighting changes, your car turns on by itself. My team’s car did that once or twice, and the first time it did that it whacked the poor unsuspecting Justina, and the second, some innocent cleaner who the car apparently holds a grudge against. The workshop was held at Ngee Ann Polytechnique, and my group spent 15 minutes trying to find the block. Justina being Justina, insisted we take a cab when we could have taken a 5 minute bus ride there. However, the cab proved useful as we drove around campus trying to look for Block 4. After the first 10 minutes, we asked these 2 students for directions, and they told us to "go down then turn right lor". However, going down only lead us to a dead end, and as we u-turned and headed back up, the students were laughing at us. Very helpful bunch. We finally found the block after asking nicer people for directions. Today, this morning, i had to drag myself out of bed, for a prefect's meeting. We were being taught to do detention. I am so glad i joined the discipline commitee, as instead of joining fellow prefects in being detained, we monitored them and had to treat them like DC girls. How amusing. The rest of the day has been uneventful, rushing to finish homework, as usual. I just want you to be happy. / 12:34 PM · |
